EDCGSR is a non profit corporation providing shelter and care for displaced German Shepherd dogs. Our operation houses several dogs, however not all are adoptable due to behavior or physical issues. Cindy, the president of the rescue, is an experienced trainer with years of experience with GSD's and can help you with challenges you may have with your dog.
Mission Statement:
El Dorado County German Shepherd Rescue provides refuge and makes ready for adoption, unwanted, abused, abandoned, or neglected German Shepherds, or GSD mixes. We educate the public regarding animal welfare and the importance of spaying and neutering. German Shepherds which are unwanted or unable to be adopted by local animal control services are brought to our facility where they are fully vetted, rehabilitated, socialized in order to be adopted out to provide excellent companions in their forever home. Our organization reaches out to the public through scout troops, elementary and high school students with a volunteer program, local business and offers a community service program resulting in education on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets and exposure to the needed care of abandon animals.
Asher, featured below, is one of our pride and joys and has obtained permanent status at our rescue as a sanctuary dog. Asher, with his brothers and sisters, plays a critical role in helping us with new comers by providing excellent role models. For more information regarding our operation please feel free to give us a call to schedule a visit.
