Surrendering Your Dog
Pets are given up for a number of reasons: financial concerns, illness, moving to a home that doesn't welcome pets, allergies, pet behavior issues, etc. Before you give up on your pet, please consult a reputable trainer or animal behaviorist for assistance. Our rescue has great resources that are affordable and extremely beneficial for both the human and dog. To find the name and phone numbers for these please look under this tab. Often times trainers understand exactly how to reverse the problem and help you most efficiently.
If you don’t find information on how to help your pet fit into your life, give us a call and we’ll help you consider your options.
Our rescue pulls dogs from El Dorado County and surrounding shelters. This gives the dogs a chance to find a home from the shelter before it even has the chance of coming to our rescue. We will pull the dog directly from the shelter if needed. We understand that surrendering your dog to the shelter may seem hard, but for people who need to place their dog immediately, it may be the best solution.
If you can hold onto the dog for some time, our rescue can work with you to find a home for your dog. This process can take anywhere from a few weeks to months depending on the dog. This solution is often less stressful for both the dog and human. If you are interested in surrendering your dog, please contact us.
