Want to Volunteer and help save dogs?

Thank you for your interest in volunteering!

El Dorado County German Shepherd Rescue relies on donations and volunteers to continue rescuing wonderful dogs from horrible situations.  Whatever your interests, our dogs can benefit from your help. We appreciate every effort our volunteers give. Please don’t be shy about contacting us.  We are looking for committed and passionate people willing to donate at least 2 days a month (morning or afternoon), that want to make a difference in the lives of dogs in our community.

What kinds of jobs do volunteers do?

Volunteers do all kinds of work like cleaning dog kennels,  walking, bathing and brushing dogs, poop patrol, taking pictures writing dog bios, helping with social media, vetting adoption applications, performing house checks, grant writing , attending monthly pack walks and more.  We ask for volunteers to commit to a minimum of 6-8 hours a month for those intending to work with the dogs.

How old do you have to be to volunteer?

EDCGSR believes that people of all ages should be able to volunteer.  However, due to safety reasons we ask that our volunteers be 12+ years old.
