FOSTER NEEDED(ASAP): Hi, my name is Maxine! Didn't they give me a beautiful name? I think so!I'm a 3-4 year old, 55lb. female GSD with TONS of energy. So I guess that makes me a typical German Shepherd. I actually had an owner, but my owner never came to get me at the shelter. I was lucky enough because EDCGSR saw the potential in me and rescued me from the shelter. Presently, I'm in a board and train program to learn some manners. More specifically, I am learning how to be appropriate with other dogs as I can be a bit pushy and dominate. I can be a bit of a diva! My high energy helps to engage me in training and shine. I may do well with an older, confident male dog. Due to my high energy level and prey drive a home with cats and small dogs would not be ideal. I love people too, but may be a bit too much energy for toddlers, so older children, 12+ are more up my alley. If you love the water then I would be your best pal to enjoy the beach and go for a good swim at the lake. We could play ball and I could probably fetch it in the water too. I'm current on vaccinations, Heartworm negative, spayed and microchipped. I would thrive with an active family who has GSD experience and time to spend with me to help me be the best I can be. Could you be the one to win over my affection and see my potential? Please contact my pals at EDCGSR and lets find out! Minimum adoption fee: $300.00
Hi, my name is Max! I'm a 4 year old GSD mix with a handsome tan coat and black saddle. I can be a little timid when meeting new people at first, but will warm up to most anyone. I'm living in a foster home with 2 other male dogs and get along pretty well with them. Sometimes I want to try and be boss but it never goes far. I thrive with clear boundaries and a strong leader to help build my confidence. I'm learning a lot in my foster home, like how to walk on leash, have polite house manners and sleep in a crate. My fosters are sure setting me up for success! A training class or two would be fun to keep me on track for success. I would love to have a quiet home with a calm setting where I could be walked twice a day, but relax and hang out at the end of the day. I would thrive in a home with an older couple or older children in a quiet and loving home. I'm current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, neutered and microchipped. I will be waiting for a loving and patient family. Could that be you? Minimum adoption fee: $300.00
FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Hi, my name is Stella! I'm a beautiful black GSD who is around 5 years old. If you're looking for a very sweet, calm gal who loves chewing on Kongs, buffalo horns or antlers then I'm the gal for you. If you enjoy going to the lake or beach then I would love to tag along and play in the water too. I'm good with other dogs both male and female. Each dog I have met at the rescue has been fun to play with! I am gentle when taking treats and would be great for a family with older children, only because I don't know if I've ever been around little humans. I'm a little shy when meeting new people and prefer taking it slow, but will warm up to anyone eventually. I was pulled from Yolo County with 2 other dogs and was probably an outside dog, but I want to be with people. If you're looking for a GSD who's not too clingy, likes her own space but will come in for hugs and pets, then I might be what the doctor ordered. I'm current on vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative and microchipped. More to come on me while I settle in. Minimum adoption fee: $300.00
FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Hi, my name isOnyx! I'm a very handsome 3-4 year old neutered male GSD weighing 90 lbs. with tons of personality. I was pulled from Yolo county shelter where I wasn't getting much attention from potential adopters. I'm not sure if it's because I'm black, or because I was having some eye problems. Luckily, we're getting the eyes taken care of. I get along great with female dogs, and most males, along as they aren't too pushy. You know how males can be. For now, I'm learning how to walk on a loose leash and commands like Sit, Wait, Place and Come. I've only been at the rescue a short time now but I'm learning to trust humans again. Did someone say ball? I love to play ball all day long and don't mind a good Kong either! If you enjoy the water then I will be right beside you swimming and playing. We can play ball in the water too, right? I really want to be someone's special companion and enjoy everyday with you. We can be best pals and I can show off my handsome coat. More to come while I settle in at the rescue. Lucky for me, I'm current on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and neutered. I pretty much got the who shebang. Minimum adoption fee: $300.00
FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Hi my name is Novaand like my name suggests, I'm a star! I am a young 1.5 year old GSD at a petite 55 pounds. Do not let my petite size fool you though, because I have a big personality and energy to match. I love to play with other dogs and love people. I have a loving disposition and sweet nature. If you're lucky then I might roll over for a belly rub after play time. My manners and basic obedience are still a work in progress. So why not give me a chance and we can learn some training tips together? My attentiveness and energy will help me catch onto commands quickly! If you're looking for a fun, loving and energetic GSD in a compact size, then please contact my friends at EDCGSR so we can meet. I'm current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, spayed and microchipped.
Minimum adoption fee: $350.00
FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Hi, my name is Magnolia! I am a 3-4 year old German Shepherd Husky mix, I guess that makes me a Shepsky. I'm energetic, so an active family who loves runs or hikes would be fun. However, after a good walk I"m happy to come in and lay down. I have a sweet nature and love greeting visitors. I'm a bundle of enthusiasm, so I need a family with older children. People and dogs are fun to be with but cats really need to be chased. Don't they? My basics are a work in progress but I am learning to walk on a loose leash, I know sit, have nice house manners and am crate trained. I'm pretty much a diamond in the rough but with some time and training I could be the best dog you've ever had. I'm current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, spayed and microchipped. If you're looking for a fun and active girl, then please contact my friends at EDCGSR for more information. I look forward to meeting my new furever family! Minimum donation: $300.00
Nike is a 2-3year old, neutered male GSD mix, weighing around 55lbs. This small dude is full of energy and ready to rock. Nike, like his name, is an active guy who would make a great walking or hiking partner. This guy needs a little time to adjust to new surroundings. He gets along with other dogs and would do best in a home with older children, 12 and up as he can be a bit excitable in new situations. More to come on this pocket rocket as he spends more time in his foster home. Nike is current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, micro-chipped and ready to go to his forever home. Minimum adoption donation: $300.00
FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Hi, my name is Cruise and that's my game!!! I am an extremely handsome, 2.5 year-old, 80 lb. GSD. I am very active, intelligent and thrive on stimulating challenges. Based on my training at EDCGSR, I would be a trainer’s dream! I know basic commands like Here, Down, Sit, Place and I walk very well on leash, however, I do need some work on coming when called. Who doesn't, right? I am great with people and good with other dogs when introduced properly, females especially as I really like things my way. I am current on vaccinations, microchipped and HW negative. My ideal home would be with someone who is home during the day, or an owner who can take me with them or give me a job to do. I am not a backyard dog, in fact, I ended up at a shelter due to jumping my previous owners fence and was scheduled for euthanasia. But, my great friends at EDCGSR rescued me and saw my potential! If you’re looking for a dog who wants to work and keep active, then I am your guy! Please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application to come and meet me. Hope to see you soon! Minimum adoption donation: $350.00
FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Hi! My name is Reyna! I am a very sweet, 3-4 year old female, GSD and Malinois mix. I am a petite 55 pounds, spayed, current on vaccinations, HW negative and microchipped. I am a reserved girl, so it takes some time for me to warm up to new people. My demeanor is playful and friendly, and even though I enjoy playing with other dogs here at the rescue, I prefer to be with humans. I can play a bit rough at times and I love to chase things, so no small dogs or cats. Since arriving at EDCGSR I have really come out of my shell and enjoy being brushed and fussed over. Who doesn’t, right? I could use a training class to work on my obedience and manners. Walks would be fun as I can walk off leash and have great recall. I am a regal girl who is looking for someone who can help me gain trust and is willing to spend time to teach me. A foster home would be great, so they can help me become confident and prepare me for my forever home. Could you be my knight in shining armor? If so, please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application. I look forward to meeting you!

Water sports, dog park, hiking, running, and adventure? That all sounds like fun to me! Hi, my name is Butte. I was found during the Butte fires last year, so hence the name. I am a white, male GSD, approximately 4 years old. I can be a bit shy around new people, so it will take me time to warm up. The dog parks are fun, and I get to play with older children there too. In true GSD fashion I do alarm bark at home or sense an intruder. I do bark when I see men in baseball caps but can be easily corrected. Do you have a dog or two already? I get along with easy-going dogs and would prefer a canine companion. Since I am energetic I would do best with an active family, one that enjoys water sports and swimming. I am house trained and crate trained, but could brush up on my obedience training. A training class would be fun and help me bond with my new owner. Plus, you could help me be the best GSD I can be! EDCGSR has me current on vaccinations, neutered, HW negative and microchipped. If you’re looking for a sweet, active canine, then consider giving me a chance at a wonderful life. I will be your best friend for life! Please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application to meet me. Minimum adoption donation: $300.00
Hi, my name is Destiny. I am a 3-year-old, female GSD and around 75lbs. A good Samaritan found me in the river and I was too weak to get out on my own so they rescued me. I weighed 25lbs. at that time, but I have progressed nicely and put on weight. So happy for a second chance at life! My basic obedience is great, and I am crate trained, house trained and walk nicely on leash. An obedience class would be fun and help me bond with my new owner! I know sit, down, come, wait, and leave it. I get along with other dogs with proper introduction. Due to my high prey drive a home with cats or small animals is not recommended. My interest would be too high and end up chasing them. My great personality allows me to be around children with proper supervision. As with all my fellow GSD friends at the rescue I am spayed, HW negative, current on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Is a sweet and loving girl like me part of your Destiny? Please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application to meet me. Destiny is a special needs dog as she has a condition know as EPI and will need to be on medication for the rest of her life.

Hi, I am Cassidy! I am a 5 year old, female GSD mix. Aren’t my ears cute? They add to my very loving and excitable nature. From what I hear, I am one of the volunteer’s favorites at the rescue! Just like my other fellow GSD’s at the rescue, I have lots of energy and would do well with an active family, without children or female dogs. Though, I get along with most male dogs given proper introduction. I am a cautious girl who takes time to warm-up to people, but once I trust you, look out, because you’re in my circle forever! I do prefer females to males but can trust them over time. Do you love to train? Then I am your girl. I am a quick learner and love to play, so I can catch onto obedience in no time. I am currently working on my barrier reactivity with a trainer at EDCGSR. He is helping me be the best I can be! If you’re looking for a dog who is protective and loving, then I am the girl for you! I am spayed, HW negative, microchipped and current on all vaccinations. Please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application to meet me. Minimum adoption donation: $300.00
