Hey, the names Maverick! I am a fun and rambunctious, neutered, 2 year old GSD/labrador mix. I may have a rough exterior, but I am a softy through and through. I am an easy-going guy and my floppy ears add to my handsome look. I am an energetic boy who loves to play with my two foster siblings, who are both a male and female GSD's. I enjoy daily walks with my foster siblings at the park and relax under a shady tree and watch others walk by. I do great on leash! The basic obedience commands are a work in progress, but wouldn't training class be fun! I take treats softly and look to you for guidance, so obedience and direction will be fun with my new family. Oh, I am crate trained and have nice house manners! My two foster siblings are teaching me boundaries and how to be polite around other dogs. I can be too energetic for them sometimes, so an active family and dogs who can handle my energy would be best. I am a bit cautious of new people, but warm up to them after a couple minutes.I do jump up in excitement, so a family with older kids would be best at this time. I enjoy playing with other dogs and am cat workable. If you're looking for a young boy who loves to play, go for walks, and likes to relax at the end of the day, then I am your guy! Current on vaccinations, Heartworm negative, micro-chipped. Minimum adoption donation: $350.00
Pending Adoption: My name is Smokey! And in my humble opinion, an extremely handsome, highly intelligent, 65 pound, male ,German Shepherd mix. I smile and wag my tail a lot, am very loving, eager to please and want your approval. Being 3 years old and still in my teen-age years, I have a puppy-like playfulness and exuberance that makes people think I’m much younger. I have lots of energy and would love to be your running, hiking, or frisbee buddy but am calm in the house when you want me be to be calm. I am loyal, devoted, and a great watchdog. My intermediate and advanced obedience classes have taught me how to sit, down, wait (so I won’t bolt out the door), come when called, walk nicely on leash, and get along with strange dogs and people without overly reacting. I love snacks!!! And will do anything for food so I am highly trainable but I need a stable family that will set boundaries for me and be consistent so I will remember my manners. I get along with other dogs that have good doggy manners. My foster family lets me stay in the house with their German Shepherds whenever they are home and I love to play with them. I am neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, and heart worm negative. One of my parents is a German Shepherd and the other is a German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever/Shiba Inu mix. Because of my puppy-like attitude the best home for me would be with older children and adults. I would like nothing better than to love you and always be by your side but I should only be adopted by an experienced German Shepherd or Shiba Inu owner. Minimum adoption donation: $300.00
Nike is a 2-3year old, neutered male GSD mix, weighing around 55lbs. This small dude is full of energy and ready to rock. Nike, like his name, is an active guy who would make a great walking or hiking partner. This guy needs a little time to adjust to new surroundings. He gets along with other dogs and would do best in a home with older children, 12 and up as he can be a bit excitable in new situations. More to come on this pocket rocket as he spends more time in his foster home. Nike is current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, micro-chipped and ready to go to his forever home. Minimum adoption donation: $300.00
FOSTER HOME NEEDED:Are you looking for an energetic buddy who loves the water, running and going on adventures? Then I am your guy! My name is Atticus, I am a 4-year-old, 80 lb., male, sable shepherd mix. I am a handsome, loving guy who is neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped and HW negative. I would make a great dog to pal around with as I have my basic commands down pat, but further training would be great! My willingness to please and attentiveness would make you proud and shine in a training class! I know general commands like sit, down, come, place and I walk nicely on a loose leash. Oh, I am house, and crate trained too, so that is a plus. I would do best with an active family who loves to run and go places, so a family with older children would be best, however, I did live in a home with younger children and loved them. I can be picky about who I warm up to, but don't take it personally. Please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application if I sound like a fun dog. It would be great to meet you!

FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Hi, my name is Cruise and that's my game!!! I am an extremely handsome, 2-3 year-old, 80 lb. GSD. I am very active, intelligent and thrive on stimulating challenges. Based on my trainer at EDCGSR, I would be a trainer’s dream! I know basic commands like Here, Down, Sit, Place and I walk very well on leash, however, I do need some work on coming when called. Who doesn't, right? I am great with people and good with other dogs when introduced properly, females especially as I really like things my way. I am current on vaccinations, microchipped and HW negative. My ideal home would be with someone who is home during the day, or an owner who can take me with them or give me a job to do. I am not a backyard dog, in fact, I ended up at a shelter due to jumping my previous owners fence and was scheduled for euthanasia. But, my great friends at EDCGSR rescued me and saw my potential! If you’re looking for a dog who wants to work and keep active, then I am your guy! Please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application to come and meet me. Hope to see you soon! FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Hi! My name is Reyna! I am a very sweet, 3-4 year old female, GSD and Malinois mix. I am a petite 55 pounds, spayed, current on vaccinations, HW negative and microchipped. I am a reserved girl, so it takes some time for me to warm up to new people. My demeanor is playful and friendly, and even though I enjoy playing with other dogs here at the rescue, I prefer to be with humans. I can play a bit rough at times and I love to chase things, so no small dogs or cats. Since arriving at EDCGSR I have really come out of my shell and enjoy being brushed and fussed over. Who doesn’t, right? I could use a training class to work on my obedience and manners. Walks would be fun as I can walk off leash and have great recall. I am a regal girl who is looking for someone who can help me gain trust and is willing to spend time to teach me. A foster home would be great, so they can help me become confident and prepare me for my forever home. Could you be my knight in shining armor? If so, please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application. I look forward to meeting you!

Water sports, dog park, hiking, running, and adventure? That all sounds like fun to me! Hi, my name is Butte. I was found during the Butte fires last year, so hence the name. I am a white, male GSD, approximately 4 years old. I can be a bit shy around new people, so it will take me time to warm up. The dog parks are fun, and I get to play with older children there too. In true GSD fashion I do alarm bark at home or sense an intruder. I do bark when I see men in baseball caps but can be easily corrected. Do you have a dog or two already? I get along with easy-going dogs and would prefer a canine companion. Since I am energetic I would do best with an active family, one that enjoys water sports and swimming. I am house trained and crate trained, but could brush up on my obedience training. A training class would be fun and help me bond with my new owner. Plus, you could help me be the best GSD I can be! EDCGSR has me current on vaccinations, neutered, HW negative and microchipped. If you’re looking for a sweet, active canine, then consider giving me a chance at a wonderful life. I will be your best friend for life! Please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application to meet me. Minimum adoption donation: $300.00
Hi, my name is Destiny. I am a 3-year-old, female GSD and around 75lbs. A good Samaritan found me in the river and I was too weak to get out on my own so they rescued me. I weighed 25lbs. at that time, but I have progressed nicely and put on weight. So happy for a second chance at life! My basic obedience is great, and I am crate trained, house trained and walk nicely on leash. An obedience class would be fun and help me bond with my new owner! I know sit, down, come, wait, and leave it. I get along with other dogs with proper introduction. Due to my high prey drive a home with cats or small animals is not recommended. My interest would be too high and end up chasing them. My great personality allows me to be around children with proper supervision. As with all my fellow GSD friends at the rescue I am spayed, HW negative, current on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Is a sweet and loving girl like me part of your Destiny? Please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application to meet me. Destiny is a special needs dog as she has a condition know as EPI and will need to be on medication for the rest of her life.

Don’t let my age fool you, I can play ball for hours! Does snuggling sound like fun too? I would enjoy laying in your lap or snuggling while watching a movie, reading or taking a nap. I am looking for a patient and loving family, one with children ten years or older. I can be a bit rambunctious for the little ones! I am current on vaccinations, spayed, HW negative and microchipped. Hi, I am Cassidy! I am a 4-5 year old, female GSD mix. Aren’t my ears cute? They add to my very loving and excitable nature. From what I hear, I am one of the volunteer’s favorites at the rescue! Just like my other fellow GSD’s at the rescue, I have lots of energy and would do well with an active family, without children or female dogs. Though, I get along with most male dogs given proper introduction. I am a cautious girl who takes time to warm-up to people, but once I trust you, look out, because you’re in my circle forever! I do prefer females to males but can trust them over time. Do you love to train? Then I am your girl. I am a quick learner and love to play, so I can catch onto obedience in no time. I am currently working on my barrier reactivity with a trainer at EDCGSR. He is helping me be the best I can be! If you’re looking for a dog who is protective and loving, then I am the girl for you! I am spayed, HW negative, microchipped and current on all vaccinations. Please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application to meet me. Minimum adoption donation: $300.00
ForBud is a handsome, neutered, ~75 pounds, one year old German Shepherd pup who needs a person to be near at all times. Bud LOVES his person and wants to play with you, sleep near you, and just hang out at your feet. Bud is learning his basic commands, is crate trained, and is house-broken. Bud enjoys his walks and takes his time taking in all the sights and smells. Even though he’s a year old, he’s still experiencing life for the first time. Bud rides well in the car and loves to explore new walking paths. He loves to meet new people, will rub up against you demanding a pet and is constantly told how handsome he is. Bud only barks occasionally at a squirrel or a passerby, but not excessively (whew!). Bud has met other larger dogs with proper introduction and has done well. Bud hasn’t formally met a cat, but he’d probably do best in a home without a cat. He is still working on his manners, typical of a young shepherd, and will do best in a home that will provide continuing training with him. And until he learns not to jump on people, we feel it would be best for him not to be around kids. The pictures of Bud with the cone on are from his neuter surgery, he is a healthy, happy boy. If you’re home more than you are away, Bud will be so happy and give you lots of love. If you want a snuggle buddy who thinks he’s just 2 pounds, Bud is your pup!
