Willow is a sweet, intelligent 18 month old silver/black, female GSD who weighs about 65lbs. This young sweetheart was an owner surrender who lived with other dogs and a dog savvy cat. She is doing well in her foster home working on boundaries. She does well when matched with dogs, preferably males as she plays a bit rough. She craves attention, but can become over stimulated with too much. She is a sweet, active gal who would enjoy an experienced GSD family, or person willing to give her the attention and training she deserves. She would love a yard and daily walks or runs. She is house and crate trained. This beauty is not recommended for a first time Shepherd adopter. She is confident with very little submissiveness, the standard breed temperament and she can be assertive and pushy; will challenge leadership status. She is an independent problem-solver that will try to out-think her owner. With her usually Moderate to High Energy she will need physical and mental exercise regularly for life. If needs are not met, she will take over the household in a hot second and can become destructive or an escapist. Willow is spayed, current on vaccinations, heart worm negative, micro-chipped and waiting for that family or person to spend the rest of her life with. Do you have what it takes for this gorgeous gal?

Hello, Hi, my name is Zekial or "Zeke" for short! I am a year and a half and around 90 pounds. I am a stunning and big boy. While I am on the large size, my friends at EDCGSR say I am sweet and affectionate towards people. I can use work on my manners and take time to meet new dogs, but my Foster family is working on that. In fact, they are setting me up for success by working on basic obedience and socialization with other dogs. I currently live with three other, male and female German Shepherds. I know to sit and wait for my meals, crate without a fuss, sit, down, and house trained. I even sit nicely and wait to be leashed. We are currently working on polite leash walking and mat training, but I will pick it up in no time because I am one smart cookie! I love playing ball so much that I retrieve it and drop it right at their feet so we can keep playing. They try to trick me by hiding the ball, but I find it every time! Due to my size, high energy level and jumping I would do best in a home with no younger kids at this time. I do have a strong and loud bark when someone rings the doorbell or I hear strange noise. Car rides can be stressful, but I settle down after a couple minutes in a crate. My ideal home would be with a strong and confident leader who will keep up with my training, structure and socialization. Someone with GSD or working dog experience and obedience training is a must. Oh, and someone who can keep up with my energy because I love to run, play soccer, and splash in the water! Cats are unknown. More info once I have been around a while! Please contact my friends at EDCGSR and fill out an application if I sound like a good match. We look forward to meeting you! I am current on vaccinations, Heartworm negative, microchipped and neutered! Thank goodness. Minimum Adoption fee: $350.00
FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Hi, my name isOnyx! I'm a very handsome 2-3year old neutered male GSD weighing 90 lbs. with tons of personality. I was pulled from Yolo county shelter where I wasn't getting much attention from potential adopters. I'm not sure if it's because I'm black, or because I was having some eye problems. Luckily, for me we got the eyes taken care of. I get along great with female dogs, and most males, along as they aren't too pushy. You know how males can be. For now, I'm learning how to walk on a loose leash and commands like Sit, Wait, Place and Come. I was recently adopted but had to be returned as I started guarding my new owner too well, so I really need an experienced GSD owner, one who will go slow with introducing me to new experiences. I really want to be someone's special companion and enjoy everyday with you. More to come while I settle in at the rescue. Lucky for me, I'm current on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and neutered. I pretty much got the who shebang. Minimum adoption fee: $300.00
Hello! My name is Magnum. My name means something larger than normal or great and I think that meaning suits me well, as I’m a handsome five-year-old GSD who weighs around 90lbs. Let me tell you a little bit about my back history… I originally passed my evaluation at the shelter and was adopted out, but then was returned after 8 months for playing too rough with their 6-year-old and being to protective. Sheesh…. Don’t they know I’m a GSD. But my friends at EDCGSR saw my potential and knew the right adopter is out there, so here I am at the rescue. I am one lucky guy! Just as my name suggests, I get along great with male and female dogs. Even though I enjoy playing with other dogs I would prefer to be with my family. Cats are unknown. I could use some training on my barking when I see strangers walk by the fence line. A big plus is I’m house trained, crate trained and have polite leash manners. I’m good being left alone, but I don’t like it. Of course, we can always attend a training class. We could bond over fun training sessions and show off my handsome coat in class! My ideal family would have GSD or working dog experience who can help me freshen up on my training. We can stay active by going hiking, running or jogging, and enjoying my favorite pass time with a good game of fetch. Older children 12 and up would be ideal for me as I’m a big boy. If I sound like a great match, then please contact my friends at EDCGSR and fill out an application. I’m current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, neutered and microchipped. Minimum adoption fee: $300.00
PENDING ADOPTION!!!: Hi, my name is Magnolia! I am a 3 year old German Shepherd Husky mix, I guess that makes me a Shepsky. I'm energetic, so an active family who loves runs or hikes would be fun. However, after a good walk I"m happy to come in and lay down. I have a sweet nature and love greeting visitors. I'm a bundle of enthusiasm, so I need a family with older children. People and dogs are fun to be with but cats really need to be chased. Don't they? My basics are a work in progress but I am learning to walk on a loose leash, I know sit, have nice house manners and am crate trained. I'm pretty much a diamond in the rough but with some time and training I could be the best dog you've ever had. I'm current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, spayed and microchipped. If you're looking for a fun and active girl, then please contact my friends at EDCGSR for more information. I look forward to meeting my new furever family! Minimum donation: $300.00
Nike is a 2-3year old, neutered male GSD mix, weighing around 55lbs. This small dude is full of energy and ready to rock. Nike, like his name, is an active guy who would make a great walking or hiking partner. This guy needs a little time to adjust to new surroundings. He gets along with other dogs and would do best in a home with older children, 12 and up as he can be a bit excitable in new situations. More to come on this pocket rocket as he spends more time in his foster home. Nike is current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, micro-chipped and ready to go to his forever home. Minimum adoption donation: $300.00
FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Hi, my name is Cruise and that's my game!!! I am an extremely handsome, 3year-old, 80 lb. GSD. I am very active, intelligent and thrive on stimulating challenges. Based on my training at EDCGSR, I would be a trainer’s dream! I know basic commands like Here, Down, Sit, Place and I walk very well on leash, however, I do need some work on coming when called. Who doesn't, right? I am great with people and good with other dogs when introduced properly, females especially as I really like things my way. I am current on vaccinations, microchipped and HW negative. My ideal home would be with someone who is home during the day, or an owner who can take me with them or give me a job to do. I am not a backyard dog, in fact, I an be a bit of an escape artist if you let me. I really just want to be with my person. But, my great friends at EDCGSR rescued me and saw my potential! If you’re looking for a dog who wants to work and keep active, then I am your guy! Please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application to come and meet me. Hope to see you soon! Minimum adoption donation: $350.00
FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Hi! My name is Reyna! I am a very sweet, 4 year old female, GSD and Malinois mix. I am a petite 55 pounds, spayed, current on vaccinations, HW negative and microchipped. I am a reserved girl, so it takes some time for me to warm up to new people. My demeanor is playful and friendly, and even though I enjoy playing with other dogs here at the rescue, I prefer to be with humans. I can play a bit rough at times and I love to chase things, so no small dogs or cats. Since arriving at EDCGSR I have really come out of my shell and enjoy being brushed and fussed over. Who doesn’t, right? I could use a training class to work on my obedience and manners. Walks would be fun as I can walk off leash and have great recall. I am a regal girl who is looking for someone who can help me gain trust and is willing to spend time to teach me. A foster home would be great, so they can help me become confident and prepare me for my forever home. Could you be my knight in shining armor? If so, please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application. I look forward to meeting you!

Water sports, dog park, hiking, running, and adventure? That all sounds like fun to me! Hi, my name is Butte. I was found during the Butte fires last year, so hence the name. I am a white, male GSD, approximately 4 years old. I can be a bit shy around new people, so it will take me time to warm up. The dog parks are fun, and I get to play with older children there too. In true GSD fashion I do alarm bark at home or sense an intruder. I do bark when I see men in baseball caps but can be easily corrected. Do you have a dog or two already? I get along with easy-going dogs and would prefer a canine companion. Since I am energetic I would do best with an active family, one that enjoys water sports and swimming. I am house trained and crate trained, but could brush up on my obedience training. A training class would be fun and help me bond with my new owner. Plus, you could help me be the best GSD I can be! EDCGSR has me current on vaccinations, neutered, HW negative and microchipped. If you’re looking for a sweet, active canine, then consider giving me a chance at a wonderful life. I will be your best friend for life! Please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application to meet me. Minimum adoption donation: $300.00
Hi, I am Cassidy! I am a 5 year old, female GSD mix. Aren’t my ears cute? They add to my very loving and excitable nature. From what I hear, I am one of the volunteer’s favorites at the rescue! Just like my other fellow GSD’s at the rescue, I have lots of energy and would do well with an active family, without children or female dogs. Though, I get along with most male dogs given proper introduction. I am a cautious girl who takes time to warm-up to people, but once I trust you, look out, because you’re in my circle forever! I do prefer females to males but can trust them over time. Do you love to train? Then I am your girl. I am a quick learner and love to play, so I can catch onto obedience in no time. I am currently working on my barrier reactivity with a trainer at EDCGSR. He is helping me be the best I can be! If you’re looking for a dog who is protective and loving, then I am the girl for you! I am spayed, HW negative, microchipped and current on all vaccinations. Please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application to meet me. Minimum adoption donation: $300.00
