ADOPTED!!! Bronson is an amazing 3.5 year old 80lb. male GSD with a stunning look and personality to match. He came from a high kill shelter and it wasn't looking good for this beauty, until the amazing volunteers at EDCGSR fell in love with his sweet personality. Bronson is a calm, reserved male who takes a little time to warm up to new people. He walks nicely on a loose leash, loves people once he knows them and gets along great with other dogs. Honestly, he acts as good as he looks. He is a bit of an escape artist but that's just because he doesn't like being cooped up, so some crate training is in his future. This handsome dude will be microchipped, heartworm tested, neutered and current on vaccinations before he's adopted. Minimum adoption donation: $300.00
Hey there my name is Toby. I'm a 110lb. gentle giant with soulful brown eyes and a disposition to match. I'm a strong, hearty guy with a thick tricolor coat. My foster mom says I have an excellent nose as I like to check every inch of my surroundings then I'll run back to you for some affection. I just love affection!!! I'm really curious about the world, playful and trustworthy. I can walk on a loose leash and I love to take long walks. I'm really eager to learn, but really just want to sprawl out near my family and I would really prefer someone who's home most of the day. I'm somewhat interested in other dogs, but haven't spent much time with them as I've been recuperating from elbow surgery. You see, I was blessed with bad elbows and ended up at Yolo County Shelter. Thankfully my great friends at EDCGSR pulled me from the shelter and invested in me. So at my weight and size, I'm probably not going to be an agility dog, but I'm getting better everyday and I'll be up and galloping around in no time. My favorite thing to do would be to go for a casual walk and then hang out with my family. I'm very interested in little animals so cats are probably a no. I"m good with older children as I don't want to knock any of those little humans around. If you're looking for that big, calm, burly dude who wants to hang with you around the couch/house and spend quieter days at home, then I'm probably what you're looking for. I'm current on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and neutered and quite a dog. Minimum adoption fee: $350.00
Hey there my name is Justine. I'm a year old, 55lb. beautiful, very active gal who's been out of commission for a few months due to a broken femur. I was hit by a car, picked up by Stanislaus shelter and lucky for me the amazing volunteers from EDCGSR were able to pull me and pay for my surgery. I'm just now recovering thanks to the great care I've received from Missouri Flat Animal Hospital and my favorite foster person. I should be good as new and back to running around in no time. I absolutely adore people, Did I say I just love people? I haven't been allowed to play much with other dogs due to my recovery, but I'm young and willing to please so I'm sure I could be trained to play well. Chasing small animals is a lot of fun for me, so I don't think I'd be good with cats. For now, I know Sit and I respond well to my name. There will be more info on me once I've had time to finally get out and about. What do you think? Could I be your new best friend? I'm current on vaccinations, Heartworm negative, spayed and microchipped. Minimum adoption fee: $350.00
PENDING ADOPTION: Freedom is 50lb. . very active 6 month old, sable , female GSD just waiting for a family to love her. Her and her brother were pulled from a bad situation by good samaritans and ended up in our program. Both pups are extremely intelligent, friendly and willing to please. Freedom is crate trained, house trained and knows Sit. She is learning manners and how to walk on a loose leash. She is a lovable, in your face kind of gal, who is working on boundaries. This youngster loves everyone and enjoys playing with the other male dogs here . Since this girl is such a tough player, a home with a young male for her to play with would be ideal. Freedom will be current on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped when old enough and is heartworm negative. Minimum adoption donation: $350.00 and prior enrollment in a puppy class or obedience training classes is definitely in this cutie's future. This is a one of a kind sweetheart you don't want to miss!!!

This young gentleman is going to be a BIG DAWG from the size of his feet. More to come on this handsome youngster.
Minimum adoption fee:$350.00 and prior enrollment in puppy class or obedience training classes.
ADOPTED!!! My name is Tina and I’m as dainty as my name! I’m an adorable sable colored, 60 pound female German Shepherd/Whippet mix that’s about 15 months old. Long of leg and fleet of feet, I have little bursts of energy and then am content to be a lounge lizard for the rest of the day. I am the perfect dog for walking, hiking, in the great outdoors or relaxing in the house. A little shy around people until I get to know them, I would prefer to be in a home with another polite active dog. I get along great with three large German Shepherds at my foster home (male and female) and I love to play with them. I stay in the house when my humans are home and haven’t had any accidents. I come when called, am learning “wait”, “stand”, and how to walk nicely on a leash. I am spayed, heartworm negative, and micro-chipped and of course, current on vaccinations. Cute as a bug’s ear and cuddly, I’d love to be your snuggle bunny! Minimum adoption fee: $350.00
Hi there, I'm... Charlie! I'm a 4 year old 90lb. plus ball of lovable, goofiness. I love people but will be protective and bark like a typical GSD around strangers. Well isn't that my job? I love playing with other dogs, both male and female , but need to be reminded sometimes not to play to rough. I absolutely love to play in the water, and run and play with the other dogs. I know Sit, Place, I can walk nicely on a loose leash and I really want to please. I have a very cute smile when I'm excited, I raise my front lip up over my teeth. I'm a very friendly guy who loves to play fetch and will even bring the ball back!!! That’s unusual for GSD’s I've heard. I once lived in a house before I came to stay at the rescue. I would love to spend my days playing with other dogs, or playing fetch and then come in and relax on my dog bed. I'm a pretty versatile gentleman. My foster parents at the rescue want to keep me, but I'd rather have my own home. They say I"m one remarkable German Shepherd Dog. I am current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and neutered, and ready to go. Could you be my final furever home? Minimum adoption fee: $300.00
ADOPTED!!!! Leo is a remarkable 5-6 month old 60lb. sable male GSD pup, currently in a foster home with a female GSD. Leo was living with other dogs in his other life and got along fine with them. This gorgeous dude is already crate trained and house trained. He's learning manners, like how to walk on a loose leash etc. but will need a person or family committed to his training . This stunning, handsome young canine is great with people and other dogs. He loves to play chase, fetch and loves the water. More to come on this guy as we have more time to evaluate his behavior. Minimum adoption fee: $350.00
Hello, Hi, my name is Zekial or "Zeke" for short! I am a year and a half and around 90 pounds. I am a stunning and big boy. While I am on the large size, my friends at EDCGSR say I am sweet and affectionate towards people. I can use work on my manners and take time to meet new dogs, but my Foster family is working on that. In fact, they are setting me up for success by working on basic obedience and socialization with other dogs. I currently live with three other, male and female German Shepherds. I know to sit and wait for my meals, crate without a fuss, sit, down, and house trained. I even sit nicely and wait to be leashed. We are currently working on polite leash walking and mat training, but I will pick it up in no time because I am one smart cookie! I love playing ball so much that I retrieve it and drop it right at their feet so we can keep playing. They try to trick me by hiding the ball, but I find it every time! Due to my size, high energy level and jumping I would do best in a home with no younger kids at this time. I do have a strong and loud bark when someone rings the doorbell or I hear strange noise. Car rides can be stressful, but I settle down after a couple minutes in a crate. My ideal home would be with a strong and confident leader who will keep up with my training, structure and socialization. Someone with GSD or working dog experience and obedience training is a must. Oh, and someone who can keep up with my energy because I love to run, play soccer, and splash in the water! Cats are unknown. More info once I have been around a while! Please contact my friends at EDCGSR and fill out an application if I sound like a good match. We look forward to meeting you! I am current on vaccinations, Heartworm negative, microchipped and neutered! Thank goodness. Minimum Adoption fee: $350.00
FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Hi, my name isOnyx! I'm a very handsome 3 year old neutered male GSD weighing 90 lbs. with tons of personality and energy. I was pulled from Yolo county shelter where I wasn't getting much attention from potential adopters, maybe it's because I'm black. For now, I'm learning how to walk on a loose leash and commands like Sit, Wait, Place and Come. I was recently adopted but had to be returned as I started guarding my new owner too well, so I really need an experienced GSD owner, one who will go slow with introducing me to new experiences. I really want to be someone's special companion and enjoy everyday with you. I'm a big goofball and love nothing more than to play fetch with a KONG!!! I can play for hours. I also love the water. I get along with others dogs as long as they're not too pushy, but a calm female dog would be a better fit for me. I can be a bit strong willed so I need someone with experience to help me be the best I can be. Lucky for me, I'm current on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and neutered. I pretty much got the who shebang. Minimum adoption fee: $300.00
Hello! My name is Magnum. My name means something larger than normal or great and I think that meaning suits me well, as I’m a handsome five-year-old GSD who weighs around 90lbs. Let me tell you a little bit about my back history… I originally passed my evaluation at the shelter and was adopted out, but then was returned after 8 months for playing too rough with their 6-year-old and being to protective. Sheesh…. Don’t they know I’m a GSD. But my friends at EDCGSR saw my potential and knew the right adopter is out there, so here I am at the rescue. I am one lucky guy! Just as my name suggests, I get along great with male and female dogs. Even though I enjoy playing with other dogs I would prefer to be with my family. Cats are unknown. I could use some training on my barking when I see strangers walk by the fence line. A big plus is I’m house trained, crate trained and have polite leash manners. I’m good being left alone, but I don’t like it. Of course, we can always attend a training class. We could bond over fun training sessions and show off my handsome coat in class! My ideal family would have GSD or working dog experience who can help me freshen up on my training. We can stay active by going hiking, running or jogging, and enjoying my favorite pass time with a good game of fetch. Older children 12 and up would be ideal for me as I’m a big boy. If I sound like a great match, then please contact my friends at EDCGSR and fill out an application. I’m current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, neutered and microchipped. Minimum adoption fee: $300.00
Nike is a 2-3year old, neutered male GSD mix, weighing around 55lbs. This small dude is full of energy and ready to rock. Nike, like his name, is an active guy who would make a great walking or hiking partner. This guy needs a little time to adjust to new surroundings. He gets along with other dogs and would do best in a home with older children, 12 and up as he can be a bit excitable in new situations. More to come on this pocket rocket as he spends more time in his foster home. Nike is current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, micro-chipped and ready to go to his forever home. Minimum adoption donation: $300.00
FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Hi, my name is Cruise and that's my game!!! I am an extremely handsome, 4year-old, 80 lb. GSD. I am very active, intelligent and thrive on stimulating challenges. Based on my training at EDCGSR, I would be a trainer’s dream! I know basic commands like Here, Down, Sit, Place and I walk very well on leash, however, I do need some work on coming when called. Who doesn't, right? I am great with people and good with other dogs when introduced properly, females especially as I really like things my way. I am current on vaccinations, microchipped and HW negative. My ideal home would be with someone who is home during the day, or an owner who can take me with them or give me a job to do. I am not a backyard dog. I really just want to be with my person. But, my great friends at EDCGSR rescued me and saw my potential! If you’re looking for a dog who wants to work and keep active, then I am your guy! Please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application to come and meet me. Hope to see you soon! Minimum adoption donation: $350.00
Hi! My name is Reyna! I am a very sweet, 4 year old female, GSD mix. I am a petite 55 pounds, spayed, current on vaccinations, HW negative and microchipped. I am a reserved girl, so it takes some time for me to warm up to new people. My demeanor is playful and friendly, and even though I enjoy playing with other dogs here at the rescue, I prefer to be with humans. I can play a bit rough at times and I love to chase things, so no small dogs or cats. Since arriving at EDCGSR I have really come out of my shell and enjoy being brushed and fussed over. Who doesn’t, right? I could use a training class to work on my obedience and manners. Walks would be fun as I can walk off leash and have great recall. I am a regal girl who is looking for someone who can help me gain trust and is willing to spend time to teach me. A foster home would be great, so they can help me become confident and prepare me for my forever home. Could you be my knight in shining armor? If so, please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application. I look forward to meeting you!
Minimum adoption donation: $300.00
Hi, I am Cassidy! I am a 5 year old, female GSD mix. Aren’t my ears cute? They add to my very loving and excitable nature. From what I hear, I am one of the volunteer’s favorites at the rescue! Just like my other fellow GSD’s at the rescue, I have lots of energy and would do well with an active family, without children or female dogs. Though, I get along with most male dogs given proper introduction. I am a cautious girl who takes time to warm-up to people, but once I trust you, look out, because you’re in my circle forever! I do prefer females to males but can trust them over time. Do you love to train? Then I am your girl. I am a quick learner and love to play, so I can catch onto obedience in no time. I am currently working on my barrier reactivity with a trainer at EDCGSR. He is helping me be the best I can be! If you’re looking for a dog who is protective and loving, then I am the girl for you! I am spayed, HW negative, microchipped and current on all vaccinations. Please contact EDCGSR and fill out an application to meet me. Minimum adoption donation: $300.00
